Plain-language terms for the Knowbie training program offered to FCL member co-ops. We have kept this short and readable on purpose. It sets out what you are buying, what you can do with it, and how to cancel.

This program is owned and operated by Knowbie. FCL recommends Knowbie to its member co-ops, but your purchase, your agreement, and your support all come directly from Knowbie. FCL is not a party to this agreement.

1. What you are buying

Knowbie is a beverage training service delivered through the Knowbie app on phone, tablet, and iPad. Your purchase gives your store staff access to Knowbie training content for the term you pay for. There are two ways to buy:

Onboarding Seats ($135 per seat per year, plus GST). Each seat is one staff member and includes all training content, including Liquor Compliance.
Full Package ($800 per store per year, plus GST). Unlimited staff at one store location, all training content, plus the operator dashboard and announcements.

Prices are in Canadian dollars. GST is added at checkout. A seat belongs to your store, not to an individual person, so if a staff member leaves you can reassign that seat to someone else. Just email us.

2. Getting set up

After you pay, we will email you within one business day to collect the details we need and set up your accounts. Your access begins once setup is complete.

3. Term, renewal, and cancellation

Each purchase runs for one year from the date it starts and renews automatically for another year unless you cancel. You can cancel at any time by giving us at least 30 days written notice by email. When you cancel, your current paid year runs to its end and does not renew after that. We do not provide partial refunds for a year already started.

4. What we provide

We work to keep the service available and the content accurate and up to date, and we add new content from time to time. We may make reasonable changes to the content and features. If we ever need to make a major change that reduces what you receive, we will let you know.

5. Ownership and acceptable use

Knowbie owns all of the training content, the app, and everything in the program, including the text, images, video, quizzes, and course structure. This is our intellectual property and it is protected by copyright.

Your purchase gives your store a licence to use Knowbie for training your own staff. You may not:

copy, download, record, resell, or redistribute the content;
share access with people who are not your staff, or with other stores that have not purchased;
use the content to build or train a competing product.

Accounts are for your store staff only. If access is shared or used outside these terms, we may suspend it.

6. Payment

Payment is handled securely by Stripe. We do not see or store your full card details. If a renewal payment fails, we will contact you to arrange payment before access is affected.

7. Privacy

We collect the information we need to run your accounts and track training progress, such as staff names and completion records. We use it to operate the service and report progress to your store. We do not sell your data. If you would like your data removed after you cancel, email us and we will take care of it.

8. Liability

Knowbie is a training tool. We provide it in good faith but we cannot guarantee particular business results. To the extent the law allows, our total responsibility to you is limited to the amount you paid us in the previous 12 months.
